We covered protests in three key cities on January 20th, 2025, during Donald Trump's Presidential Inauguration Ceremony. It was fantastic to analyze and provide perspective through our observations of various movements, their language, signage, chants, political ideologies, and rhetoric. You will hear from the leader of Patriot Front, formerly associated with Vanguard America, which is a white nationalist movement that took part in the Charlotesville Riots. You'll hear from the founder of the Oath Keepers literally moments after his release from Prison based on the Trump Pardon. During the inauguration ceremony, you will see heckling in New York City and broad protest coverage from Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York City.
Since October 7, 2023, protests have increased steadily. Understanding the underlying political dynamics and messages being pushed in some of the most contentious parts of American political life is essential. Eventually, the protests will transform into civil unrest or political violence, not to mention policy action. The media doesn't do a good job of providing insights into these dynamics or ground realities.
