Interview: Hani Almadhoun, Co-founder of Gaza Soup Kitchen, Humanitarian & Philanthropist (Peoples Conference for Palestine)

On Day 2 of the People’s Conference for Palestine, I spoke with Hani Almadhoun, Director of Philanthropy at UNRWA USA and co-founder of the Gaza Soup Kitchen, to talk about humanitarian relief, the crisis in Gaza, and the urgent need for global solidarity. Hani brings both personal and professional insight: while raising millions for refugee relief through UNRWA USA, his own family in northern Gaza has faced devastating loss. Together with his brother Mahmoud, he helped launch the Gaza Soup Kitchen to provide thousands of meals to families living under siege. We discuss how the movement for Palestinian liberation is reaching a broader audience, the emergence of the Gaza Soup Kitchen through mutual aid, and the circumstances surrounding his humanitarian and philanthropic efforts.
